Monday, Monday

Date: April 27
Mileage: 1.84
April mileage: 26.48
Time: 0:40

I left my house at 8:00pm and was whipped! Not sleeping great because of the heat so that's not helping me. I didn't walk far but I tried to keep my speed up so as to make it a worthy walk.

In fact I was so tired that I didn't write this last night - so I'm doing it now.

Have a beautiful day!

Can't believe it's been so long!

Date: April 26
Mileage: 3.83
April mileage: 24.64
Time: 1:20

I have excuses, some are valid and some are just pure laziness. I haven't been sitting on my butt, I just haven't been walking. The weather has been phenomenal for the past couple of days - tomorrow is supposed to be HOT! LOL - it's raining and 37 one day, 73 the next and 83 the next. I have no idea what it was today, but it was humid - my hair told me that - curly!

No I haven't quit - I just got very distracted. And - a side note - the inserts I got for my new sneakers were a BAD idea! I have a bad back and they managed to tweak the way I walk enough that my knees, hips and back were aching!

No coat!!

Date: April 14
Mileage: 2.86
April mileage: 20.81
Time: 1:00

The sunset was beautiful tonight, warm enough for a vest and sweatshirt - NO COAT! I walked up Oneida street from the Parkway to Proctor Blvd - I'm not great on hills - so I have to hit them more. Higby is a rough one for me too. I hope to work up to going from Genesee Street up Higby to Valley View down to Memorial Parkway. That's a Saturday walk - no doubt about it.

Walking through the pain...

Date: April 10
Mileage: 2.93
April mileage: 17.95
Time: 1:05

It wasn't that far, but I'll have to admit when I hit the corner of Douglas Crescent and Ballantyne Brae I was ready to quit. My legs ached and I was tired. But this lady was walking two of the cutest dogs (Pomeranians) and I asked if I could pet them. Amico and Mina - cute little things and very sweet. They loved the attention. Well - stopping for those couple of minutes and kneeling down it helped the pain so I continued up Ballantyne Brae to Holland and down Holland to Parkside. I'll try to go 4.5 tomorrow. I'll need it after "Breakfast for Dinner" - my mom and I are making pancakes, waffles, french toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, - and mom already made (from scratch) coffee cake cupcakes and blueberry muffins. My brother, his wife, their kids, her mom and dad and aunt are all coming over. This has become a favorite dinner!

Happy Easter! Jesus is Risen!

Bike Ride

First Bike Ride in 2009
Date: April 11

Mileage: 5.47
April mileage: 5.47
Time: 33 Mins

Ok, I'm out of shape. I'll admit it. I am not happy about it. So that being said, I'm taking a walk tonight after dinner. This ride wasn't much in the scheme of things - but it started the breaking in of my butt on the saddle. I drove all over the place yesterday and kept thinking "hey, this would be a great bike ride". So now I have to get back into shape for riding.

Awesome weather

Date: April 10
Mileage: 1.18
April mileage: 15.02
Time: 25 mins

Today was a short walk. I bought new walking shoes at The Sneaker Store The owner helped me - what a nice guy and he was so incredibly helpful. He dealt with my feet very professionally. I've had two bunionectomies - my right foot almost 2 years ago and my left foot just over a year ago. So my feet are different and my old sneakers just weren't doing it. My right foot is an 8.5 and my left is an 8.0 - my new sneakers - are 9.0 - I just don't make sense!

This walk was so short because mom and I just went to the grocery store and pharmacy to pick up a few things. It's awesome that we live so close to so many stores and restaurants.

Beautiful night

Date: April 9
Mileage: 4.54
April mileage: 13.84
Time: 2.00

I'll admit it...I was slow. But I did it! And there was the stop to Joanne's to see if there was anything I couldn't live without.

It was beautiful last night - just warm enough so that I was never uncomfortable. I worked up a sweat. And it was a miracle that I made it home. I was up till 1AM on Wednesday and worked all day yesterday - getting up at 6AM. So - I was more tired than I realized. But it felt good to be out...

Refreshing - or Cold...not sure

Date: April 6
Mileage: 3.57
April mileage: 8.94
Time: 1:10
I am borrowing the format above from Up In Alaska, Jill Homer is the blogger and just gives me the strength to keep walking. It's nothing compared to her, but that's ok - I'm doing something and moving my butt.

Tonight was good walking weather, not too cold or rainy. It's definitely damp but it kept me moving. Trying to get to 4 miles in an hour - that's my next goal at this time.

4/4 Saturday AM

Not my typical walk. We did the Autism Walk this morning. Rain, wind, snain, ice and more wind! The walk was held at The UCP center on Armory Drive to help the Kelberman Center. My friend and her husband have a beautiful little boy who is autistic and the Kelberman Center has helped them a lot with the issues that have been so much a part of their lives and that of their son.

The walk wasn't that long - 2.0 miles, but it was against the wind for a good portion, so we had to work!

I need to get back into walking every night again. The weather and work have crimped things a tad.

Wed 4/1

I wasn't going to walk tonight - figured that it was going to be too wet. I changed my mind though, it was so nice out - the clouds were starting to blow away with a wind from the south. I started at 7:54 and got home at 9:00 and walked 3.37 miles. The last bit of my walk tonight I noticed that the stars and moon were visible - the sky was intensely dark and the clouds were moving fast - still heading north. It was gorgeous! Spring is here!
